Liquid Latex

Oh how I loathe thee liquid latex! But not really. Liquid latex is our frien....emy. It helps smooth edges of prosthetic, makes us look old, and helps things stick to us! This 1 oz. bottle will run you around $5.00 on www.stagemakeuponline.com. Usually if you buy the bigger ones you get a better deal!

Bald Cap

Bald caps...well they're awesome! For our bald cap we used a Kryolan Rubber Bald Cap...there are many different brands such as Graftobian, Woochie, and Glatzan. The one we used was a little thick and you would definitely have to build up a thicker latex ridge, but for stage sake, you really would notice the cap line. This cap runs for around $10.63 at http://www.frendsbeautysupplyonline.com. Not a bad price and a reasonably nice product!

Prosthetic Adhesive

Prosthetic Adhesive is awesome. It is water soluble and just as stable and sticky as spirit gum, its also pretty pricey. If you want to spend the extra bucks and get this stuff, then do it. Otherwise go with the cheaper and just as efficient Spirit Gum. At www.stagemakeuponline.com a 1oz. bottle will run you around $7.50 and a 4 oz bottle (as shown above) will run you around $18.00. A little goes a long way with this stuff so it is pretty worth it!

Castor Oil

This is Castor Oil. It is used for many things and is always good to have on hand in any makeup kit. It helps smooth out morticians wax, it helps makeup go on latex, it pretty much is awesome. Don't spend your money on the expensive stuff. Castor oil runs for around $4.99 at Walgreens and yes it is the same exact stuff that professionals use!

Bald Cap

First you start by slicking the hair with gel. We used Got2b glued ultra.

then you put the cap over the head and draw the areas that need to be trimmed away.

Trim those areas.

Now... You can use spirit gum, however, we chose to use prosthetic adhesive for the sake of our model. Both Spirit Gum and Prosthetic adhesive work the same, however, P.H. is water soluble and can wash off in the shower.

Apply to neck

always pull DOWN and FORWARD

Trim away any extra overlay

Then take Latex and build a seam up around the edges. Remember to stipple the latex. Do this by TEARING a sponge in two.

After Latex has dried, powder off. Be generous with the powder.

Now for the castor oil. Now according to Dana Nye you can you a specialty oil, however, it is more costly. We used run of the mill castor oil that we got at Walgreens.

after oil is applied to the entire bald cap and latex ridge, wipe off access oil.

Powder off again.

Now....ADD COLOR! Remember to stipple again.

After you have coated the cap with a flesh color...you need to add any age spots or hair lines. Dana Nye used the Bald Cap FX wheel. We did not have one so we used character shadow and highlight

the finished product! Not bad!

Thanks to Estee Parker, Javier Ybarra, and Jensen Nicholle Astle . You guys were an awesome team!

Le Poisson

This was a practice of my stylized fish makeup. Originally I wanted it done on my sister, however, she was indisposed at the time. I loved this. I have been wanting to do a fish for a while. This version is a little rough but still cool!
